Principal Dentist and Co-owner
Lorna Divecha

Lorna is the principal dentist and co-owner of the practice. She grew up in Linlithgow and then moved on to the University of Dundee, where she graduated as a dentist in 2009, followed by a year of postgraduate training. Lorna has worked at West Port Dental Practice for over 10 years, followed by time elsewhere gaining additional skills before returning as principal dentist and owner alongside her husband, Dilen Divecha.
As well as looking after her patients, Lorna has previously enjoyed mentoring and supporting newly graduated dentists as part of the NHS Education for Scotland Vocational Training programme. Lorna has a wide range of dental experience, makes sure to keep up to date with developments in dentistry and always aims to provide a high level of care in a relaxed and friendly manner. She has completed further training to allow her to offer a wider range of additional treatment options to patients. This includes restoring and maintaining dental implants to allow replacement of missing teeth, as well as provision of aligners to straighten teeth. Outside of work, Lorna enjoys spending time with her family, particularly as she has two young children.

Dilen Divecha

Dilen is co-owner and business manager of the practice, as well as a registered dental therapist and dental hygienist. Dilen is originally from Zimbabwe, moving to the UK in 2001 before attending the University of Dundee where he completed a degree in Oral Health Sciences, graduating in 2010. Dilen has worked in a variety of dental practices across Scotland which has helped him appreciate the importance of quality dental care provision in a caring environment. As a dental hygienist and a dental therapist, Dilen has a strong passion for supporting patients to achieve their oral health goals with the aid of technology and in line with up-to-date evidence to provide the best care for patients. Outside of work, Dilen enjoys spending time with his wife Lorna and their two children.

Robin was practice owner from 1998 until February 2026 and grew the practice from a single surgery to what it is today with 3 surgeries.
Having graduated from Dundee University in 1978, Robin completed 4 years of specialist training at Edinburgh Dental Hospital.
In 1986 he was made a Fellow in the Conservative Dentistry Department of Edinburgh University and awarded the Diploma in General Dental Practice RCS.UK in 1992.
Other roles have included 10 years of undergraduate teaching at Edinburgh University, 25 years as a postgraduate trainer with NHS Education Scotland, and as a Dental Adviser to Lothian Healthboard.
Robin has also done further training to allow him to restore dental implants and provide orthodontic treatment.
Robin has recently passed on ownership of the practice to Lorna and Dilen, but he continues to work part time in the practice during the transition while he winds down to retirement.

Dylan joined our practice in November 2020 after moving from a busy practice in Inverness. He graduated from Aberdeen University in 2013 and then completed a year of postgraduate training in Highland Region. Since then he has worked in General Practice in Perth and Inverness.

Nicole joined the practice as a trainee Dental Nurse in 2020, receiving the formal part of her training at Edinburgh Dental Institute. Since then she has progressed within the practice and is now our Practice Manager.

Rachel qualified as a Dental Therapist from the University of Edinburgh and joined our practicein May 2024. She has loved getting to know all the patients here and tries to create a positive environment for the hygiene appointments.
Dental Receptionist
Susan Clark
Diploma in Dental Nursing, BSc Microbiology
Susan worked in the practice a number of years ago as a Dental Nurse, but left to work in a Microbiology Laboratory.
Recently we were happy to welcome her back to the team. She is now working in Reception and in our Decontamination Unit.
